The person before the platform

Mentorship became personal long before it became his message.

At 16 years old, Chad needed more than advice. He needed someone willing to invest in him.

He was growing up in a divorced home, with his father living halfway across the country and his mother battling alcoholism. During that season, a pastor named Ed Noble noticed him, believed in him, and began walking with him.

Ed gave Chad time, truth, encouragement, accountability, and an example worth following. That relationship changed the direction of Chad’s life and his eternity.

That is what a mentor did for Chad. Today, that same conviction drives everything he does.

A life rebuilt

Achievement looked successful. It could not hold his life together.

For years, Chad relied too heavily on performance, pride, and self reliance. Success created the appearance that everything was working, even as important parts of his life were moving out of alignment.

Personal failure eventually forced him to confront the distance between the leader people saw and the man he was becoming. It nearly cost him his marriage, family, ministry, and future.

Achievement is a terrible savior.

Through surrender to Christ, the faithfulness and forgiveness of his wife, counseling, accountability, coaching, and trusted mentors, Chad began rebuilding trust through humility, honesty, healthier habits, and consistent action.

That season changed the way he understands leadership. Leadership begins with character, stewardship, service, and the willingness to let others speak truth into your life.

Leadership under real pressure

The message was tested in life and built inside growing organizations.

As a founding employee at Sojern, Chad joined the company when it had five employees and helped scale it to more than 600, contributing to a $250 million company exit.

That experience gave him a front row view of what happens when organizations grow faster than leaders develop people. Knowledge becomes concentrated. Managers inherit responsibility without learning how to mentor. Culture weakens because leadership wisdom is not transferred.

What breaks first is rarely the strategy. It is often the handoff.

Today, Chad brings both sides of his story to leaders and organizations. He understands the pressure of building something significant and the deeper work required to become someone capable of carrying that success well.

He is a John Maxwell and Ryan Leak Trained and Endorsed Speaker, a Jon Gordon Certified Coach and Trainer, founder of Ads Value and Legacy Beyond, and co-founder of Lead Different: Legacy Beyond.
